The Opportunity & Team

An exciting opportunity to work with Bega’s new and existing food products, we are currently inviting applications for a Quality Specialist to join our Bega Foods team at the Peanut Company of Australia (PCA) in Kingaroy, Queensland.

The role will maintain PCA’s Quality Management System in line with Bega, including development of quality control and safety standard procedures. The successful incumbent will coordinate product development activities including, testing and experimenting of composition and properties, research to develop processes and assess outcomes, and developing practical applications of findings.

Reporting to the Manager - Technical and Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for;

• Participating in and ensuring compliance to internal and external audit programs
• Coordinating recall and withdrawal activities
• Liaising with the Bega Corporate R&D team to conduct on site NPD trials and assessments
• Testing products for flavour, colour, texture and nutritional content, and advising on methods of processing, packaging and storing foods
• Ensuring compliance to NIP, labelling and shelf-life regulations and standards
• Maintaining the allergen matrix and validation program

The Quality Specialist will from time to time provide operational support to the manufacturing and laboratory teams. If you are curious and enjoy problem solving, maintain a high attention to detail throughout your work, and can communicate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, you will find this role highly rewarding.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of Farm Supervisor is to oversee and supervise the farm enterprises including: all aspects of avocado production and pack shed operations, farm maintenance and livestock operations.

POSITION DUTIES

You will need to undertake the following tasks;

• Consultancy and planning with the Farm Managers to coordinate and participate in on-farm activities and proposes improvements to operations.
• Complete and supervise a wide range of farm operations, including the processes of avocado production, spraying, harvesting, and orchard maintenance.
• Installation, maintenance, and regular monitoring of multiple irrigation systems.
• Monitor property infrastructure and equipment, undertake routine maintenance, and ensure repairs are made as required.
• Organise, coordinate, direct and supervise staff in the field and in the pack shed facility.
• Training and inductions of staff; monitoring staff rosters, hours, performance, and liaison with managers to recruit employees and resolve any employee dispute issues.
• Explain, apply and enforce occupational health and safety standards for on farm workplace and ensure compliance with current government regulations, with particular emphasis on Biosecurity and Covid19 Health Plans.

SALARY

Annual Salary of $ 50, 000 - $55, 000 negotiated, based on experience.

Local farm is seeking the services of Harvest - Orchard Farm Hand to work in the Alloway area. This work is available for the 2021 season and will involve a range of duties, work will be predominantly maintaining macadamia orchards.
