Headline: Are you someone who can provide high quality tender submissions and wants to work from home? This may be the position for you!

Location: Australia / Work from home

  • Highly specialised local content consultancy needing specialist tender writing experience.
  • Opportunity to develop and grow a specialised function of a boutique specialist organisation.
  • Must share a passion for regional development and experience in major project tenders a must.

About us

Hughes et al are local content specialists and we work inside infrastructure, resources and community projects to create opportunities for both project and region to share in successful local content strategies. One way we do that is through helping our clients develop and implement thought leading Australian Industry Participation, and Local Industry Participation plans.

The methodologies behind how goods, supply, labour and knowledge is gathered from regional communities is transforming in front of our eyes. The local content frameworks we implement are co-designed to break the mould and our clients are innovators and implementers who want to build, own, or operate major infrastructure works in ways that spread economic and employment success in the regions in which they operate.

We help them with proven strategy and systems, trusted relationships and decades of experience building processes that help major projects procure, employ and engage differently. Our team of six has experience which is unparalleled in the Australian market and we have become very good at helping major and high-profile projects develop and acquire resources in ways that save time, risk and money, through smart and respectful local content engagement.

Our client base is growing thanks to the increased focus on local content and regional economic development and although tender writing is a key part of our business, we now need someone to turn it from a “key part” to a function of excellence.

You can find out more about us at www.hughesetal.com.au  Download the free “Guidance Note” as some evidence that the Managing Director (and current chief tender writer) is not entirely hopeless at writing.

About the role

Principally you are going to want to own the writing process from kick-off to submission. You will provide the client the process, templates and sense of certainty to deliver their requirement. In addition, you will also be the interface between the client and the Hughes et al team to ensure that each submission has been tailored for the client's requirements and the region they are operating in.

Ideally, we are seeking someone who can provide evidence of:

  • 5 years unbroken track record of writing and managing tender submissions for projects in excess of $250 million for tier one and major project contractors
  • Evidence of high-quality process management
  • Managing priorities and schedule
  • Be accountable and responsible for the tender submission function.

In summary, writing high quality tender responses is your ground zero and how your success will primarily be measured. When infrastructure projects write and adopt a local content plan and approach it helps a lot of people. We are very privileged to do what we do, and we are looking for someone who is excited by that responsibility and opportunity.

About you

You need to be a disciplined, self-starter with a degree of patience and a good sense of humour. You must be passionate about what you do and have a clear sense on how you can help regional communities as a natural dividend of better local content practices.

Where you work from, and how you manage the 40 hours a week are a matter for you. We want your focus to be on having a healthy work life balance so you can focus your energy into developing a highly specialised tender writing function for a boutique specialist organisation.

Finally, as lead author for plans that impact regions you get to create a new narrative for both the client and the region. We are hoping that you will be able to also capture some of those stories for us and by working with our team contribute to the broader marketing strategy.
