Rosalie Gourmet Market, one of Brisbane's finest gourmet delicatessens, is seeking an experienced experienced cook / chef to join our team. We are offering up to 5 shifts per week (dependent on the candidate's availability, with a minimum of 3 shifts per week). These shifts would be day time shifts, approx 7-8 hours each. Whilst this is a casual role, the hours on offer would be regular and ongoing. We are able to offer flexibility in working hours to the suitable candidate, as our kitchen operates 7 day a week (excluding most public holidays).

Additional hours may be required during busy periods including Christmas, Mother's Day, Melbourne Cup and when big catering jobs arise.

Our in-house commercial kitchen is used by our chefs to prepare food for sale in our deli (including gourmet salads, wet dishes / curries, sandwiches / pizzas / quiche / pies / savoury dishes / cakes / patisserie items), as well as catering orders from our extensive menu (which can be found online).

The role would include working alongside our kitchen team in relation to a wide variety of aspects of the food production required within the business. The role is broad and variable from day to day. You are supported by an experienced and very capable team.

The working hours would generally be an early start from 7am (or earlier if you prefer an early start and early finish), finishing around 2.30pm.

The successful applicant must have a minimum of two years experience in the kitchen. You will need to understand costing & be able to work cohesively alongside other team members that are also using our commercial kitchen. Chef qualifications are highly desirable though not essential.

Catering is an important part of our business and you will also be required to assist in the preparation of catering orders including canapes & platters.

On the job training, coaching and support is available for the successful candidate.

Our business has a team of approximately 30 staff members (including around 8 members in the kitchen team) therefore team-fit for the successful candidate is very important.
