Job Description

The Operations Manager – Defence Sustainment Programs

Continued expansion of our Brisbane Sustainment business, has created a unique opportunity for an Operations Manager (OM) who will lead and manage the maintenance and supply chain teams across our many Programs. The (OM) is responsible and accountable for running an effective maintenance and supply chain capability, balancing priorities with resources to meet all program needs. This role requires an autonomous leader with strong personnel management skills, and a thorough understanding of Defence ILS activities. With full control on priority setting, recruiting and local resource management, this role will suit an energetic, approachable and ILS knowledgeable individual, keen to ensure success in a high-paced operational environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Direct the on-site management team to meet all contracted outcomes.
  • Work with functional & local managers to ensure consistency of service delivery.
  • Ensure all KPIs are understood and met across all Programs.
  • Be responsible for the facility security, safety, and WH&S compliance.
  • Grow and develop a strong team culture and have succession planning in place for key roles.
  • Ensure the capability limitations are understood, addressed and planning for success is optimized.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience with Sustainment Program (Defence preferred) or Project Management.
  • Current Australian SECRET (NV1) Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience with CASG Performance Based Contracts.
  • Understanding of Supply Chain/Logistics and Repair/maintenance management.
  • Proven experience in customer facing roles.
  • This role would suit an experienced and technically qualified manager with Defence knowledge and comprehensive understanding in the fields of both supply chain and maintenance services.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally to both suppliers and customers locations will be necessary.
