The role

We are looking for a talented leader to manage the Corporate Strategy and Governance team for the City of Vincent including our governance and risk management, property management and council support functions.

Reporting to the Executive Director Strategy and Development, the Executive Manager of Corporate Strategy and Governance will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Corporate Strategy and Governance team to provide outstanding levels of customer service to City of Vincent employees, Council Members, general public and other stakeholders;
  • Ensure the highest standards of democratic and corporate governance and compliance are achieved and maintained;
  • Providing expert advice to Council, the CEO and staff on the Local Government Act 1995, associated regulations and City of Vincent’s local laws;
  • Overseeing the management, strategic planning and development of land controlled by City of Vincent, including leases, licences and management orders, strategic planning and property disposal;
  • Oversight of Council's Audit and Risk Advisory Committee and Council's internal audit function;
  • Managing Council’s risk exposure through the implementation of the Risk Management Framework and by building “a risk aware culture” within Council;
  • Oversight of general elections, by-elections and countback processes and the coordination of Councillor induction and training; and
  • Managing the regular cycle of Council and Executive Management Committee meetings and briefings.
