In response to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Designer / Drafter to join our Cairns Water Team.

Our GHD North Queensland Water Team is growing and we currently have a position for an experienced Designer / Drafter with 5 years + experience.

With an expanding portfolio of projects in North Queensland and beyond, GHD continues to grow across a wide range of sectors. Join a dedicated core team of highly experienced water professionals who take a long-term approach to client management. Our unique market position and enviable reputation leads to strong trusted relationships and a strong project portfolio.

This role will see you involved in a wide range of water infrastructure projects, including:

  • Structural and Water infrastructure
  • Urban renewal projects
  • Defence infrastructure projects
  • Construction phase inspections and reviews.

What you will bring to the team

  • A minimum of 5-10 years’ plus experience utilising AutoCAD drafting / designing software
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant presentation standards and approved practices to be applied to Water projects
  • The ability to work alongside engineers and designers to prepare detailed drawings, utilising analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience in Structural or Water infrastructure projects
  • Design experience in 3d modelling software such as Revit or AutoCAD Plant 3D preferable
  • Associate Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or similar qualification strongly preferred.
