Well established Gold Coast business with a national reach, specialising in the hospitality industry. Due to a restructure in the team we are seeking an experienced Payroll/HR Officer for temporary work with a view for permanency. Joining a friendly and integrated team our client is a reputable organisation that is committed to continuous advancement and is always looking at ways to improve their business services.

Your New Role

With a strong focus on people productivity and service excellence, this role will build, coach and develop a customer oriented team whilst continually identifying ways to enhance service quality for the business. Your key role responsibilities will include;

  • Manage the fortnightly Payroll
  • Ensure compliance at all times in all awards and payroll legislation.
  • Maintain the general ledger structure within the payroll system.
  • Co-ordinate the implementation of new payroll programmes as required.
  • Resolve payroll enquiries in a professional manner.
  • Manage recruitment activities, including advertising, shortlisting, managing interviews and reference checks.
  • Manage onboarding process, including processing employment contracts and any associated paper work.
  • Support the HR team will employee enquires, including disciplinaries, performance reviews, resignations
  • Keep up dated on any relevant industrial and award changes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience managing a large, complex Payroll across several entities.
  • Proven knowledge base and understanding of payroll legislation and regulations.
  • Strong awareness of payroll job costing procedures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Modern Awards industry legislation
  • HR qualification or demonstrated experience managing recruitment, onboarding and employment relations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Honesty, integrity and discretion
  • Ability to identify and solve issues
