Human Resources (HR) at The University of Queensland (UQ) is responsible for enabling achievement of the University’s strategic ambitions through attracting and developing high performing staff, and delivers high quality advice and support to our clients on all aspects of HR and people matters.

About This Opportunity

Our Senior Officer, HR Projects and Events, supports the broader Human Resources Division with;

  • Projects;
  • Events;
  • Communications.

Our successful candidate will work on various transformation project initiatives, coordinate a host of HR events including the UQ Awards for Excellence, New Staff Expo and regular HR all staff forums, and support the execution of HR communications.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will be experienced in events/project management, coupled with a solid understanding of a large and diverse HR function. Engagement and communication skills, the ability to contribute in a team environment, and the ability to prioritise and manage your workload autonomously, are key. Skills in using collaboration technologies and supporting organisational change will be highly regarded.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed-term (approx. 12 months) position at HEW level 6.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $80,784 - $86,768, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. The total FTE package will be in the range $94,517 - $101,518 per annum.
