Your role
As the Responsible Behaviour Officer you will have responsibility for the following but not limited to:

Delivery and monitoring of Responsible Behaviour Plan yr 7-12, Individual Behaviour Plans, and negotiate clearly articulated classroom rules and responsibilities for red zone students.
Contribute as part of a professional team working with the school and the community, and liaise with students, teachers, parents, guidance officers, special needs teacher, administrative officers, officers of welfare agencies and other government departments.
Facilitate the forging of links between the school and families of students who show persistent behaviour problems, to encourage students' continuous engagement at school and assist students to determine their future educational requirements.
Maintain records of student and parent contacts on a continual daily basis.
Gather, analyse, report and respond to behaviour management data yr 7-12, maintaining spreadsheets, data bases and accurate record keeping.
Utilise knowledge of policies and procedures in the interpretation of guideline material and documented precedents and utilise judgement for problem solving.
Investigate and respond to specific behaviour incidents and be available for personalised consultations with staff, students and parents to discuss behaviour management concerns.
Identify barriers to young people achieving outcomes by referral to appropriate support services, especially students at risk (at home or in the school environment)
Establish and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with/between the school and community particularly in regard to the ethical obligations outlined in the department's Queensland Government Code of Conduct and the departments Standard of Practice.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
