About You

The Deputy Principal will have demonstrated capability in leading people and programs within the junior secondary transition, Year 7 and Year 8. This would be inclusive of engaging and maintaining quality relationships with feeder primary schools, targeted inclusive programs for diverse learners, and promoting junior secondary philosophy within curriculum delivery. This role is key to the future development and growth of the school through parent and community partnerships. This position is integral in the promotion and engagement for increased enrolment.

The Deputy Principal will need to utilise their strategic and operational leadership skills to continue to drive the curriculum and pedagogical planning for the school. As a lead learner and line manager, the Deputy Principal will be passionate about driving a collaborative culture of learning and supporting staff to best meet the needs of our Yeronga students. The Deputy Principal will work collaboratively with the Principal in leading staff to develop their knowledge and skills to drive school improvement and inclusive education agendas - focusing on improving student outcomes.

Your Role

As the Deputy Principal you will have responsibility for the following:

Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Deputise for the Principal when required.
Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
Be futures oriented and strategic.
Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
Manage resources to achieve goals.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services.
