Two outstanding opportunities exist for dedicated and talented individuals to be part of the Senior Leadership Team at Cleveland District State High School. As Head of Department - Student Services, you will assist in the delivery of Cleveland District State High School's vision with a focus on leading and facilitating strategy to improve student attendance, engagement and learning outcomes in the school. The role involves ongoing consultation and collaboration with stakeholders across the school. You will actively continue to develop the quality and to build positive relationships with both students, staff and the community.

About the Role:
As the Head of Department you will have responsibility for the following:

Leading the successful implementation of Cleveland District State High School's Strategic Plan.
Code of Conduct framework and pastoral care program.
Lead positive engaged practices of a year level in line with Department of Education legislation policy and guidelines.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of junior and senior academic pathways.
Effectively line managing a team of people to achieve improved student outcomes aligned to the Annual Implementation Plan.
Effectively managing student behaviour and engagement by: Tracking, monitoring and evaluating student behaviour and engagement to measure and evaluate policies, strategies and practices in order to lead improvements.
Collaborating with other members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to:
Support staff by providing expertise and experience in positive behaviourmanagement.
Develop the capabilities of staff to be able to lead improvement in practices in order to progress student engagement and attendance.
Identify effective practices and recognise staff capabilities to scale across the school.
Designing and implementing opportunities to recognise and celebrate positive engagement of students, including student, parent and community events.
Committing to our school's vision, values and culture.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
