Full Job Description
The Parliamentary Service Act 1988 establishes the Parliamentary Service to provide a range of procedural, administrative and support services to the Legislative Assembly, its Members and committees. The Parliamentary Service's Communications and Marketing team is part of the Information Services Division and performs a range of service including: - Assist in the development and delivering of communication and marketing strategies across the Parliament - Develop, design and deliver content across various marketing channels, including social media, website and print. The Communications and Marketing team comprises two staff. Working in a small team requires a flexible approach to achieving outcomes.

The primary objectives of the position are to:
Support the Team Leader Communications and Marketing to provide strategic and operational advice on communication and marketing strategies and proactively manage campaigns to support parliamentary initiatives and programs
Assist with the development of communications and media strategies and plans to support the Parliament's activities, including developing and management of the Parliament's website content, managing the Parliament's engagement on social media platforms, marketing of the Parliament's services and production of significant publications, such as the annual report
Assist with the production and supply of promotional material for the Parliament
Assist with the external relations and events functions as directed

Duties and responsibilities of the position include:
Work with the Team leader to provide high quality advice and services on complex communication issues such as corporate identity, advertising, digital communications and crisis communication - providing feedback, assisting with problem solving and trouble-shooting where necessary

Assist with the development and implementation of integrated marketing and communication strategies and plans for the Parliament in order to improve community understanding and awareness of the role and activities of the Queensland Parliament and to promote parliamentary activities and events

Ensure project milestones are delivered on time and on budget as well as adhering to appropriate corporate guidelines and approval processes

Build and maintain effective work relationships with clients and stakeholders

Oversee the end-to-end production and delivery of creative content including copywriting, photography, basic video production, and liaising with printers and other stakeholders and suppliers as required.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes and formal quality control methods to ensure a high level of output and client service.

Maintain, monitor and collect data on the Parliament's social media channels.
