We are seeking highly motivated, strategic and proactive person to join our senior leadership team. In this role you will lead a team that facilitates State Library's work with public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres through strong partnerships with local government. Queensland has more than 320 public libraries providing vital services to Queensland communities. State Library works with this diverse and dynamic network to ensure all Queenslanders have access to a great library service.

As Manager Local Government Coordination you will:
Leading a high-performing Local Government Coordination team in the delivery of professional, confidential and efficient administration of State Library's partnership with Local Government including funding, reporting, evaluation, continuous improvement and strategic planning.
Lead the team in delivering high quality statewide library-related policy and advice to public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres (IKCs) to ensure that appropriate, innovative, and inclusive services and program
Develop and implement high level and relevant strategies including creating and revising policies and standards for to support public library services to realise their full potential. This also includes managing the development of guidelines and supporting documentation to increase the knowledge, capability and capacity of local government and public library staff
Manage the coordination and delivery of a dynamic, innovative and future focused professional development programs for all public libraries and IKCs. This includes activities delivered online, face to face and in partnership with others
Lead stakeholder engagement activities including exploring and researching national, state and local government programs and initiatives, public and private communities of interest as well as community demographics and social trends. This includes examining industry sectors linking creative industries, technology and innovation with State Library programs and services
Collaborate and form partnerships across State Library teams in the development of policies, standards and programs while leveraging staff expertise and support to ensure they are relevant and appropriate for the community and audience
Collaborate, build and manage relationships with external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of policies, standards and programs. This includes representing State Library on external committees, in stakeholder engagement forums, project working groups, at industry meetings as well as events and presentations
Managing high-volume and time-critical ministerial, departmental and other government business information requests.

This role requires travel and overnight absences.

No mandatory qualifications are required for this role.

All relevant qualifications and/or professional memberships considered. Professional membership of ALIA highly regarded.
