Full Job Description
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2-kilometre rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and the CBD, four new underground stations, eight rebuilt aboveground stations and three new stations on the Gold Coast. The project also includes new signalling technology, the European Train Control System, which will allow trains to operate closer together, enabling trains to run more efficiently and with greater safety. Each of Cross River Rail's high-capacity stations will generate unique opportunities for urban renewal, economic development, the revitalisation of inner-city precincts and new employment opportunities.

About the Role

As our Communications Support Officer you will be responsible for providing administrative and communications support to our Marketing, Media and Communications team at the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority.

Reporting to our Director, Strategy and External Affairs, you will work closely with our two Senior Communications Managers and Principal Communications Advisor to deliver a wide variety of internal and external communications.

Key Responsibilities

Manage incoming correspondence timeframes and requests for the Communications team.
Monitor and prioritise incoming emails from within the Delivery Authority, other government departments and external stakeholders.
Assist in the coordination of a range of internal communications activities including, but not limited to the preparation of fortnightly All Staff Update emails and preparation of fortnightly All Staff eMeets.
Assist in the coordination of a range of external communications activities including, but not limited to preparation of presentations and other corporate reputation materials, coordination of speaking engagements and drafting government correspondence.
Assist the Director, Strategy and External Affairs with arranging construction site visits with the Delivery Authority's project support officers and major works contractors.
Support the Media team for media events on an as-needed basis.
Support the Delivery Authority's Events Manager, on an as-needed basis, including outside standard business hours for a range of community engagement events.
Support the Director, Marketing and Communications in the Cross River Rail Experience Centre, on an as-needed basis, to engage with community and school groups about the Cross River Rail project.

About You

As our successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate your ability to provide administrative and communications support to ensure all deliverables are met whilst working collaboratively, and at times autonomously, to achieve outcomes in a changing and fast-paced project environment.

You will be resourceful and have the ability to adapt quickly through multi-tasking and creative thinking. With a strong background in all Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint you will be able to produce superior quality work.

**Please note, this role will be offered as a 2-year maximum term contract**
