In the role of Manager (Investment Prioritisation and Governance), you will lead a team of people in developing and implementing agreed governance frameworks for road network upgrades to inform future investment strategies, prioritise statewide investment candidates and prepare short-term funding submissions for enhancement of the road network which reflect transport policy outcomes and consider value for money frameworks.

Accountabilities include:
  • Contribute to the development of key investment strategies, which reflect short to long-term transport infrastructure needs, in conjunction with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead development of funding submissions for road network enhancement based on the long-term investment strategies and contribute to development of prioritised road investment programs.
  • Assist with the evaluation of capital investment needs to optimise performance of the transport network, within available funding, and ensure strategic fit with federal and state transport portfolio investment objectives.
  • Implement and maintain processes and systems to develop prioritised investment programs to meet the needs for the long-term investment in road infrastructure upgrades, and to support safe and efficient travel for industry and the community.
  • Lead research into future trends in public infrastructure provision to determine implications for TMR and the state and provide high-level advice to senior and executive management and the Minister.
  • Liaise with federal, state and local governments in relation to complex transport infrastructure network issues and advocate the state's needs, priorities and direction.
  • Provide high-level advice to senior and executive management on funding issues and investment directions impacting on delivery of a sustainable transport network.
  • Apply knowledge of Machinery of Government processes in gaining approval of funding submissions.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and key stakeholders in managing expectations for transport infrastructure investment.
  • Participate in project teams developing strategic network investment plans, comprising internal and external resources.
  • Assist the development and ongoing performance of a strategic framework that identifies and prioritises needs for the long-term investment of transport infrastructure to support safe and efficient travel for industry and the community.
  • Provide input to the development of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) guidelines, in close consultation with the Program Development and Performance section, to ensure strategic network investment outcomes are incorporated in program development processes.
This position reports to the Director (Investment Funding) and has three direct reports.
