About the department
Auburn House is a 30 bed aged person mental health residential facility in Hawthorn East, caring for people with serious mental health, behavioural and psychological needs who are looked after by a skilled and compassionate multidisciplinary team.

About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our team at Auburn House. This is a full time short term (12 month) position.

You will ensure the provision of comprehensive assessment and quality nursing care that meets the requirements of the Aged Care and Accreditation Standards and contributes to the dignity and quality of life of the residents within a safe comfortable homelike environment.

Classification: NP81-NP74 ($91,000 - $101.056)


  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and record interventions for the resident in line professional and clinical standards
  • Lead and direct nursing staff to ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered in accordance with the values and health care philosophy of the sisters of charity
  • Support the NUM with the daily running of the ward including bed management, staff management and attend relevant meetings
  • Implement continuous improvement and quality systems
  • Review and assist with ACFI

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Degree in General nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area of specialty: Gerontology/Aged Mental Health
  • Experience in the delivery of Clinical Aged Mental Health Services, especially in Residential Setting
  • Management experience would be highly desirable
