About the Position

This position will coordinate Enterprise Applications within the Business Innovation and Technology Services(BITS) Branch. This role will be required to work with multiple vendors to support functions including performance analysis and maintenance for enterprise applications and lead and guide technical and functional system personnel involved with quality assurance, analysis, application development, change management, upgrades, and implementations. The position will need to be cognisant of multiple domains and interdependencies, not all of which are under the remit of this position. This role will need to manage the diverse teams and appropriate vendor relationships whilst delivering value to the business.

Key Deliverables of the position include:
Lead and guide a team of staff responsible for enterprise applications within the BITS Branch
As an effective communicator, build positive working relationships and maintain appropriate networks across the organisation
Participate with and drive Enterprise Program/Service Roadmaps, which includes all layers of the Application and the platforms they reside in and contribute to the operational and strategic plans in collaboration with Business Leaders to enable benefits to be generated for the organisation.
Set the approach to managing the delivery of business initiatives via operational and strategic business plans
Be actively involved and influence cross-directorate system discussions and initiatives.
Be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance in agile delivery and solution improvement by implementing best practice standards and guidelines to deliver value initiatives.
Manage and ensure that multiple vendors meet operational acceptance criteria.
Ensure that solutions are maintained in line with business demand expectations
Be responsible for the definition and management of backlogs of work in conjunction with the Product Owners and appropriate vendors
Implement processes and tools to enable your team to develop their understanding of solution capabilities and to provide comprehensive impact assessments across solutions
Provide leadership and mentoring of the enterprise applications team for continual improvement

About You

Hold a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, or have at least five years demonstrable experience in the management and operational delivery of complex business-critical enterprise applications (including SAP, Service Now, Objective and ArcGIS)
Minimum 5 years of technical leadership experience in medium/large environments providing coaching and mentoring of technical and functional teams of various abilities and strengths
Demonstratable understanding of engagement with business and vendors, ensuring that corporate applications and their supporting platforms are highly available, resilient and secure
Experience in managing issues and escalation of high profile, high criticality technical issues in conjunction with Managed Service Providers and other vendors
Demonstrated expertise of vendor and contract management, preferably within a government environment.
A natural leader who champions change and develops people to achieve their personal and organisational goals
You have demonstrable experience managing large and diverse teams, managing change, and communicating with all staff levels, including at a senior level.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple deadlines simultaneously.
