The Team

We are proud to have a strong Class Actions presence nationally, having assisted clients secure justice in some of the nation's largest Class Actions, including historic settlements such as the DePuy ASR hip implant class action.

Shine's reputation as a leader in the Class Actions space in Australia has seen an organic increase in the number and size of the Class Actions being handled by this high-performing team, and, consequently, strong growth in the size of the department itself.

The Role

Due to this recent success, we are offering multiple Paralegal opportunities to join our Class Actions team on a full-time , six (6) month fixed-term contract in our Brisbane CBD office to work primarily across the Ethicon/Johnson & Johnson Class Action.

The Responsibilities

Manage high volume client files, expert evidence and briefs to counsel
Manage complex databases of information
Prepare matters for hearing, court documents, legal documents and general correspondence
Prepare simple correspondence and documents as directed
Brief and liaise with counsel, medical practitioners and other experts
Develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and external to the organisation
The Requirements
Significant demonstrated experience in a paralegal role
Ideally, candidates up to their second year in their law degree is preferred
Experience in personal injury or medical negligence preferred
Availability to work full-time is preferred
Ability to read and understand technical and medical documents and input data from records
Confident in taking high volume client enquiries and email communications from clients
Document management and collation skills
Strong MS Office skills
