The Role

The HSEQ Coordinator is responsible for day to day operations, development, implementation and continuous improvement of the BGIS' Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management systems.

Working closely with the wider HSEQ team, this role will contribute to the overall HSEQ compliance, operations, and maintenance of HSEQ systems on a corporate client site.

The role is based in Brisbane, QLD.

  • Ensure all managed sites are compliant with wardens and first aid officers
  • Management of all emergency response plans for each site
  • Management and facilitation of all drills and training sessions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Management of environmental waste management for corporate sites
  • Administrative support to Operations Manager and HSE National Manager including vendor audits and vendor compliance management.
  • Assist in maintaining the HSE Management System and operational compliance with AS/NZS 4801, ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
  • Maintaining and managing PPE, First Aid supplies and all HSE related documentation as per guidelines

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated background in a Health and Safety Officer or Coordinator role
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management
  • Relevant qualifications, with a Cert IV in WHS as a minimum (Preferably Diploma level)
  • Knowledge of AS/NZS 4801 - Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and AS/NZS ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Able to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible/ innovative approach to problems and opportunities.
