About This Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT) are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Principal Communication Professional to join the team and help promote the successful delivery of UQ and Faculty priorities across promotion, staff communication, student retention and other associate areas.

In this role you will:

  • Work with the Manager, Marketing and Communication, contribute to the development and delivery of the Faculty Marketing and Communication plan, ensuring that the Faculty’s strategic priorities are appropriately supported by central and local communication efforts.
  • Contribute to managing the delivery of communication services across the Faculty to meet local requirements in research promotion, stakeholder engagement, student retention and other relevant areas
  • Play a key role in the promotion of Faculty research to increase recognition of academic contribution, identifying and leveraging the appropriate channels through which to build the profile of the Faculty and its high-performing academics
  • Identify Faculty research which aligns with the agreed enterprise focus areas with the potential to achieve high-level exposure and impact, and work with the central Marketing and Communication team to showcase these efforts through enterprise channels.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Our Ideal Candidate

As our successful candidate, you will possess a tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience in communication or related discipline. In addition, you will have strong knowledge in contemporary communication practices, as demonstrated through recent work experience and a track record of successful delivery.

You will also have demonstrated experience in delivering professional services within the university sector or alternatively within another large, complex and/or regulated organisational environment.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, continuing or fixed term position at HEW level 7.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,763.14 - $96,783.14, plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $103,852.87- $113,236.27
