WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team

The Manager Production Planning and Control is part of the greater Operations division which is made up of Production, Facilities and Business Support. This role has 4 direct reports and will be vital to shaping the planning team capability.

About the role

As the Manager Production Planning and Control at Rheinmetall Defence Australia, you will be responsible for all production, planning, scheduling & control processes and deliverables required to produce the current and future manufacturing programs at the MILVEHCOE site. The Production Planning & Control Manager will lead the Planning & Control team in developing and maintaining the relevant production planning processes to manage and report on production capacity, production schedules and achievement for all current vehicle production programs.

As the Manager Production Planning and Control, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

Lead, mentor and develop the Production Planning & Control team and associated capability to be able to meet and exceed the strategic requirements of the business;
Lead the development and management of the overall production schedule and capacity analysis for all current vehicle production programs;
Lead the continuous improvement of all Production Planning & Control processes for increased efficiency;
Lead the development of standardised production scheduling and material availability status reports for management reporting;
Manage the creation and issue of all required vehicle and component production orders in SAP, as well as the release / call off material orders for vehicle production orders in SAP;
Manage the generation of all production order related documentation;
Manage sub contracted manufacturing tasks to schedule including tracking and reporting of status;
Develop and manage build status reports for production order completion;
Support the material management function via material status analysis per production order in line with schedule, expedite supply of materials to line once onsite;
Support the overall production and material management teams during production ramp up and commissioning;
Develop and maintain high quality relationships with the international Rheinmetall production teams to share information and lessons learned.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role include:
Tertiary qualifications in Business, STEM or a relevant discipline;
Proven experience in a similar production planning leadership role within a complex program / vehicle production environment or other high-volume manufacturing environment;
Proven experience leading and developing a Planning & Scheduling team;
Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing planning and scheduling process improvements using contemporary manufacturing methodologies related to major production facilities;
Significant Production ERP system experience - SAP preferred;
Practical hands-on approach with a good mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand the vehicle assembly process;
Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills;
Currently hold or the ability to gain the appropriate Australian Security Clearance;
Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required.
