As a BDM/Account Executive, you will be responsible for driving sales within a set of Government/Enterprise accounts and meeting sales objectives. You will manage all aspects of the sales process including prospecting, business development, lead management, qualification, evaluation, close and account care. This role is a quota-carrying sales position that plays an integral role in the success of the overall sales team.
You will have demonstrable experience with:
  • Managing the sales process from prospecting through to close, including technical demonstrations.
  • Being knowledgeable about your customer's key business challenges.
  • Acting as a guide, a trusted advisor, and a strategic partner, to provide customers with insights that demonstrate clear business value.
  • Being the final point of accountability for the delivery of the software solutions.
  • Using resources effectively to win business.
  • Meeting sales goals through prospecting, campaigns, qualifying, managing & closing opportunities.
  • Defining and executing account sales plans for your defined accounts.
The role will see you:
  • Consistently dedicate time every week for business development activities & outbound calls.
  • Develop and manage your sales pipeline sufficiency to consistently meet/exceed sales quotas.
  • Move multiple transactions simultaneously and efficiently through your sales funnel.
  • Research customers & identify key contacts to significantly grow your “account network”.
  • Map prospective accounts around organisational structure, people, and existing technology.
  • Manage and track customer and transactional information in Salesforce.
  • Provide regular and accurate reporting of pipeline and forecasting through Salesforce.
  • Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues, and products.
  • Participate in team-building and company-growth activities including strategy setting, training, marketing campaigns & customer care.
  • Practice effective and excellent communication with management, customers, and support staff.
  • Travel to customer locations in support of sales efforts as and when required.
Role Specifications:
  • Software and technical sales experience with a genuine interest in technology.
  • Strong technical competence to learn a diverse range of products.
  • Relevant experience in key verticals & a strong understanding of their business drivers/needs.
  • A network of relevant contacts to add value to our account development strategies.
  • Energetic & willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful.
The successful candidate will:
  • Possess a demonstrated track record in hunting and building sales.
  • Be highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Have experience using sales tools that integrate with Salesforce.
  • Be experienced using market-leading sales methodologies.
  • Be experienced enough to work autonomously but will be a team player through and through.
  • Be collaborative & solution orientated, with a common-sense approach to getting things done.
  • Be flexible, approachable, reliable, and trustworthy.
The successful candidate will need to have:
  • A successful sales track record working within the Government or the banking and financial services industries.
  • An understanding of the database environment & the landscape.
