About the Position

Anglicare SQ supports all kinds of people who may be impacted by mental health and wellbeing challenges, from new parents, children transitioning through school, people planning retirement and everything in between. We are here to provide the support needed at home or out in the community, for people to live the life they want.

The ASQ Mental Health and Family Wellbeing team based at our office in Toowoomba, are currently looking for a Service Coordinator to lead its awesome team of dedicated professionals.

You will be joining a leadership team that covers a diverse area with a number of different programs from different funders. You will have the opprotunity to work with a team that provides youth, family, AOD and Emergency relief support to Toowoomba, Warwick and surrounds.

Our next Service Coordinator will provide the team with operational support, hold a caseload as required, and contribute to the overall leadership of the Mental health and family wellbeing services. We have great supports for new leaders including external supervision. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who likes hands-on leadership and is ready to hit the ground running.

About You

Your extensive mentoring and leadership skills will be in the field of Early Years, Community Service, Youth Work or Child, and Family Support, and you will also bring the following:
  • Ability to manage, coordinate, mentor and lead a team across geographically dispersed service point
  • Demonstrated ability to support a team through change and effectively manage any performance management or conflict resolution processes
  • Robust understanding of the ethical and legal requirements relevant to the programs
  • Demonstrated experience in auditing, quality assurance and process planning
  • A background in case management and the ability to guide staff in case direction and complex support
  • Extensive background as a practitioner in a range of service deliveries
  • Facilitation of Community events and confidence with public speaking and group meetings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including interpersonal to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people
  • Well-developed networking skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders for the best outcomes of the communities and clients we support
Due to the nature of the role, a versatile and flexible attitude and the following qualities are essential:
  • Strong coaching skills through the provision of day-to-day guidance, along with ongoing training and development of team members
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills
  • A proactive and positive leadership style, with a focus on collaboration and team engagement
  • Highly organized with robust time management skills that allow you the flexibility to respond to the emerging team, program or service needs
  • Ability to travel through the region as required
  • Ability to work flexible working hours as required to support service need
Qualifications and certifications required will include:
  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, Early Childhood or equivalent
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Family Support or Mental Health would be advantageous
  • A current Blue Card (Working with Children) and National Police Check
  • Queensland Driver Licence and your own, reliable vehicle
  • Commitment to working outside regular business hours as required
