Clinical Informatics are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to support and improve existing Cloud based and on-premise SQL database installations, be responsible for configuring new database deployments and ensuring that all databases are monitored and maintained to a high level of operational status (as per Service Level Agreements (SLAs)).

About the Role

To support and improve existing Cloud based and on-premise SQL database installations, be responsible for configuring new database deployments and ensuring that all databases are monitored and maintained to a high level of operational status (as per Service Level Agreements (SLAs)).

Monitor and schedule database backups, restore and other maintenance tasks as required.
Install and configure Vmware and Cloud Virtual Servers and SQL Database software as required.
Monitoring and maintaining the existing Cloud based and on-premise virtual system infrastructure following 'Business as Usual' processes.
Creating user accounts and maintaining system security.
Monitor database growth and capacity planning.
Monitor database performance and optimizing/tuning as necessary.
Migration of data between versions of Databases and SQL server.
Analyse problems and issues to formulate and provide appropriate solutions, ensuring business requirements are met.
Work closely with developers and server operational staff to fulfil the duties of the role and assist with setting relevant policies and standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge to ensure compliance with policies, standards, systems and relevant legislation and complete quality audits to maintain legislative compliance.

This role is located in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services, Clinical Informatics, Metro South Hospital and Health Service.

Clinical Informatics (CI) provides, local Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services to the PAH, QEII, Bayside, Logan/Beaudesert and surrounding health centres.

The Technology & Operations Team is responsible for the installation, development and maintenance of local and cloud-based system's infrastructure throughout the health service. Maintenance and support for these systems and infrastructure is provided based upon ongoing arrangements detailed in individual Service Level Agreement.
