About the role:

Mackay Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a qualified Laboratory Technician to join our Water Treatment team based at the new state-of-the-art Water and Waste Scientific and Analytical Services laboratory at Connors Road Paget. This position is temporary for three (3) months.

This role will assist in carrying out physical, chemical and microbiological testing on water and wastewater samples within a NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities) accredited laboratory and carry out any other incidental tasks.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a formal qualification in laboratory work (Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or equivalent)
  • Hold a current “C” class driver’s licence
  • Demonstrate a good level of computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Have previous practical experience in routine sampling and analysis techniques.
