We are seeking Energetic and hands on engineer that likes diverse challenges. This is a true mechanical engineering position with fantastic exposure to all kinds of Mechanical and Structural applications within mining processing equipment.

The successful applicant should be able to drive engineering projects from concept and scoping, calculations and modelling, Certification to Australian Standards, Design and drafting, Fabrication support, Installation, Commissioning, Site Acceptance testing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform design calculations to ensure validity and accuracy
  • Produce design and fabrication drawings including required additional information i.e. welding standards, paint standards, tolerances etc, following drawing registration and control procedures
  • Check drawings and calculations of designs generated by colleagues for accuracy and practicality
  • Undertaking testing of equipment under development as part of this process
  • Analyze data and calculations making design changes to improve performance of new equipment
  • Site travel to gather information/details of installed machines to allow for engineering upgrades to be performed to accommodate change of operation/application
  • Perform root cause investigation of failed components and generate technical reports
What You Bring
  • Bachelor degree in relevant discipline
  • Minimum 4 years Mechanical/structural experience and well versed in Australian standards to support and align upgrades
  • Experience with the following Software
    • CAD – Enovia/AutoCAD, Enovia
    • Engineering tools: Mathcad, Ansys – Linear/Non-linear, Microstran, STAAD. Pro
  • Varied engineering exposure: Structural Engineering , Truss Structures, Lifting tools, transport frames, Planetary drives and gear boxes, Vibrating equipment, Shafts and bearings
  • Member of Engineers Australia, hopefully with RPEQ status, with a detailed path toward CP Eng. Status.
  • Autonomous worker with can-do attitude and curious mindset
  • Willingness to learn and to try new methods with aim to excel in the technical field
