The Event Services Manager owns the end to end planning of all events ensuring a seamless customer experience beyond our guests' expectation.

We are thrilled to be recruiting such an exciting role in Tropical North Queensland! This is a unique opportunity to produce the most exciting events in our 3 luxury hotels in Cairns working alongside Australia’s premium event organisers.

The Event Services Manager role will own the end to end planning of all events ensuring a seamless customer experience beyond expectation.

The Role
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Event Services Manager is responsible for exceeding guest satisfaction throughout the coordination and execution of all events in our 3 spectacular Cairns based Hotels & Resorts.

You will own the responsibility for event success from Sales handover to post event briefing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be the point of contact for all department heads, generating and circulating event orders ensuring accuracy of information whilst ensuring the clients requirements are met.
  • Provide a consistent and exceptional level of service to all customers utilising industry best practices, always exceeding expectations, and ensuring a professional, efficient, and positive approach,
  • Be the key customer contact for coordination and execution of all residential meetings and events, from signed contract to paid final invoice.
  • Be the key customer contact for coordination and execution of non-residential events including but not limited to social, wedding and day meetings.
  • Ensure smooth transition of account files from Sales to Events and keep the customer informed accordingly.
  • Own the customer experience internally by meeting & greeting customers on arrival at every stage of the event in house to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Ensure superior events drive customer loyalty and result in repeat business.
  • Take handover from the BDM, Conference & Events to understand expectations of all confirmed events to drive customer loyalty and repeat business.
  • Be the point of contact for all department heads, generating and circulating event orders ensuring accuracy of information whilst ensuring the clients requirements are met.

Key Experience & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year as an Events Manger within a hotel or event venue as a professional event planner.
  • Ability to communicate positively at all levels.
  • A quick thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Be a team player.
  • Able to provide superior client/customer service.
  • Able to juggle several projects simultaneously.
  • Able to work both without supervision and as part of a team.
  • Able to adapt to the ever-changing environment and react quickly to meet challenges.
  • Previous experience with Opera Property Management System and Ivvy Event Management system is desirable but not essential.
