Our Client
Reputable, well established and respected Law firm based in Cairns, QLD seeking a reliable, professional and highly skilled Legal Secretary to join their team ASAP! If you are genuinely comfortable doing a bit of everything, from answering the phones to drafting court documents, and are unflappable and able to work across a team of high performing Solicitors and Legal Experts, then this is the role for you!
About You
The successful candidate will bring:
  • experience working in a legal firm as a secretary;
  • solid Microsoft Office skills with a typing speed of approx. 70wpm;
  • ability to communicate effectively both oral and written;
  • excellent organisation and time management skills;
  • high level or accuracy and attention to detail;
  • hard-working, motivated and pro-active approach to work;
  • ability to work as a part of a team;
  • professional conduct and presentation.
The Opportunity
Your key responsibilities will include preparing general correspondence and court documents, preparation of briefs to counsel (hard copy and electronic), management of lawyers’ diaries, file administration, billing, transcribing digital dictation of advice, and other general administrative responsibilities as required. You will regularly liaise with clients and external providers, so your polished telephone manner and communication skills are required. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.
Experience working in the areas of litigation, commercial, family law or planning and environment law are highly desirable, as well as an understanding of legal and court processes. Legal Secretary experience from other areas of law will also be considered. To be successful in this role you are expected to have min of 4 years of legal secretarial experience and passionate about your Legal Secretary career!
