About the role
As a result of a major Avionics systems upgrade to the RAAF fleet of C130J Hercules Aircraft, Airbus currently has multiple opportunities available for experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (Avionics Technicians).
As a member of the Maintenance team at RAAF Base Richmond NSW, your primary responsibility will be to carry out inspection, repair, refurbishment, modification and recovery of aircraft communication, navigation, radar, electrical, electronics and instrument systems and selected ground equipment in a heavy maintenance and flight line environment. You will work within your competency and authorisation to contribute to the achievement of aircraft maintenance targets, and may be assigned to a number of other maintenance projects undertaken by Airbus within the facility.
Those aircraft maintenance engineers who have prior experience in supervisory roles and/or have managed small teams in a Leading Hand/leadership type capacity are also encouraged to apply.
In this role you will work under direct and limited supervision to remove, replace, refit, inspect, repair, test and troubleshoot avionics equipment including radio, electrical, instrument, and navigation systems to become proficient to:

* Plan and organise aviation maintenance work activities;
* Apply quality standards applicable to aviation maintenance processes;
* Interpret and use aviation maintenance industry manuals and specifications;
* Complete aviation maintenance industry documentation;
* Perform basic hand skill, standard trade practices and fundamentals in aviation maintenance; and
* Undertake technical and professional training as required

About you
The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role would include:

* Completion of Aircraft Trade apprenticeship or Cert IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
* High-Level aviation airworthiness regulatory knowledge and it's applicability in the relevant environment
* Experience working within a heavy maintenance environment
* Understanding of the complexities of larger aircraft servicing
* Understanding of relevant aircraft maintenance documentation and practices
