Based in Brisbane, we are seeking an experienced Communications and Operations Manager to work within our Meat Standards Australia (MSA Team) on a full time basis, which is part of the broader Adoption and Commercialisation (A&C) group.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage the communications and operations of the MSA program. This includes coordinating the development and implementation of an effective marketing and communications plan, which demonstrates the value of the MSA Program and encourages increased adoption across the supply chain. The role also includes managing the MSA program operations i.e. licensing, registration, document and system processes, reporting, resource management and training

Job Description

Key components of the role include:
MSA program responsibilities

Develop and implement the MSA Marketing and Communications plan.
Work closely with the MSA Business Development Team, the MLA International Markets Team and MLA Marketing team to support brandowners, processors and end users and encourage greater adoption and increased awareness of MSA.
Develop and deliver MSA-specific stakeholder reports including the MSA Annual Outcomes Report and Australia Beef Eating Quality Report.
Coordinate MSA specific events, awards program and supporting marketing, communications, and adoption tools.
Manage the MSA Project Coordinator and encompassing activities including managing and responding to stakeholder enquiries.
Manage MSA trademark integrity, including review of trademark requests and usage.
Coordinate MSA member licensing, registration, recommitment process including relevant updates to materials and portals.
Develop, manage and update MSA e-learning portals and other relevant training materials in conjunction with the MSA Integrity Team.

Adoption and Commercialisation group responsibilities

Work closely with the MLA communications team and Adoption Resources Senior Project Officer to provide a communications pipeline, and appropriate resources to support accelerated and impactful adoption and commercialisation of identified Research, Development and Adoption (RDA) research outcomes or products
Provide communication specialist support to RDA business unit to ensure appropriate, impactful, and relevant reporting or communications

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in an agricultural based communication, education, marketing or economics discipline;
Experience in a communication or marketing role and/or administration and program operations;
A strong understanding of marketing and communication processes, including publications, print production processes, PR, advertising, sponsorship and web applications;
Project planning and management;
Strong oral, written and verbal communication skills;
High interpersonal skills, with staff and participants;
Strong analytical ability;
Basic understanding of MSA key principles; and
