Our client are seeking experienced Counter balance (LF) Forklift Operators to join their team at Berrinba on an ongoing basis!

They’re looking for someone who thrives working in a team environment where open communication is encouraged and WHS is at the forefront of their mind. You will need to be reliable, confident when operating a forklift and comfortable working in an environment where the nature of work is consistent and repetitive. 

Role: Counter Balance (LF) Forklift Operator

Start date: ASAP

End date: 12 months, with the potential of ongoing work

Hours: Full time (Casual)

Shift times: M-F 12pm-7pm 

Pay rate: $28.44 p/hour + super 

Main accountabilities:

- Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a forklift, other non-specialised materials handling equipment and by hand.

- Maintaining the facility's equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion and inspecting and performing minor maintenance on appropriate materials handling equipment

- Preparation of freight with all appropriate paperwork ready for handover or dispatch

- Use of tools and equipment within the transport operation (basic non-trades maintenance)

- Storage system, information input/retrieval system, warehouse/transport management system;

- Check or count stock for accuracy and/or damage and infestation

- Performs sorting, scanning and noting of products that move through the distribution facility

- Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work area, conducting operations in a manner which promotes safety

- Respond to customer requests concerning product/freight delivery, availability and location in a professional and courteous manner, as directed

- Keep appropriate records and reports

- Storing and packing of goods and materials in accordance with appropriate procedures and/or regulations

- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations, efficiently stacking and storing the product in the appropriate area

- Cross docking and transit-style activities

- Pull and prepare product for shipment ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped, performing picking duties in an efficient manner which meets customer service standards

- Preparation and receipt of appropriate documentation including liaison with suppliers

- Put away, replenishment and retrieval of goods to and from specific warehouse areas

- Operation of non-licensed equipment and manual tasks associated with Transport operations.


- Unrestricted working rights in Australia

- Availability to work full time hours ongoing

- Valid LF license

- High level of experience driving a forklift

- Possess a current drivers license and have access to a reliable vehicle

- Physically fit

- Be able to pass a full medical clearance check and in-depth drug & alcohol test

- Possesses competent keyboard skills;

- Possesses sound interpersonal and communication skills;

- Understands and is responsible for complying with quality control standard

- Works in a team environment and/or under routine supervision

- Undertakes duties in a safe and responsible manner

Uniform requirements:

- Steel cap boots

- Hi vis yellow shirt (short or long sleeve acceptable)

- Full length safety pants (no leggings, jeans or chinos)

If you have been shortlisted for the role, you will need to complete the following pre-employment requirements:

- Police check (at your own cost, approximately $40-$45)

- Online induction

- Medical assessment

NOTE: The full medical and drug and alcohol test will cost approximately $300 which will be paid by the employer. However you will be required to pay for it if you fail the drug & alcohol component of the test or don't show up to the appointment.
