About the role


The Manager Communications & Stakeholder Relations will be pivotal in shaping communications across all aspects of Rheinmetall Defence Australia, to various internal and external audiences, across public relations and product marketing. This highly visible, empowered and autonomous role will see you establishing and implementing our communications framework and embedding best practice. You will also work closely with senior leaders of the business, providing advice and practical support to ensure whole-of-organisation strategic view of communications.


As Manager Communications & Stakeholder Relations, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:


  • Provision of strategic advice to the Managing Director and Senior Leadership team on corporate affairs and communication strategies;
  • Coordinate and represent RDA at events including trade fairs, exhibitions, workshops and road shows;
  • Develop and implement internal and external communication plans corporately for RDA, facilitate media relations, issues management and advertising strategies;
  • Create and oversee the maintenance of marketing and communication databases, corporate company presentations and marketing and promotional materials; and
  • Coordinate visits from Senior Rheinmetall Executives, Politician’s, Defence personnel and Media Representatives to RDA in Australia & New Zealand.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 


  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Public Relations or related Arts fields or extensive practical experience;
  • Experience in Graphic Design and Event Management;
  • Ability to maintain composure, balance workload and conflicting priorities and effectively handle difficult situations;
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with an ability to interact with all levels of staff, media and other internal and external stakeholders;
  • Advanced MS Office skills ie. Excel, Powerpoint and excellent Adobe Design Product skills;
  • Be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening; and
  • An ability to travel internationally and interstate when and if required.
