The QGAir Helicopter fleet consists of five aircraft operating from three locations in Archerfield (Brisbane), Townsville and Cairns.

The Technical Services Officer plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective functions related to maintenance, airworthiness and logistics supporting keys stakeholders within the operation.

An exciting and broad functioning role will see you perform the following duties:

  • Maintain and control technical and maintenance records for all Queensland Government Air helicopters in compliance with , safety and Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) requirements.
  • Manage the engineering Major Defect and Defect Reporting systems for all Queensland Government Air Rotary Wing bases.
  • Manage and maintain aircraft logbooks and maintenance management systems.
  • Liaise and collaborate with CASA representatives and engineering personnel regarding maintenance control matters.
  • Maintain the master technical library, including regular review and renewal of technical and regulatory data subscriptions to support ongoing aircraft maintenance events.
  • Support maintenance program reviews and evaluation assessments ensuring application of appropriate maintenance control, computer record systems and software programs.
  • Undertake and support operational duties, particularly during emergencies and disasters.
Mandatory Requirements

Qualify for CASA approval as a Queensland Government Air Rotary Wing Maintenance Controller within 12 months of commencement of employment.

Highly Desirable
  • Ability to manage aircraft technical and maintenance records using data base systems
  • Experience using Gannet or comparable computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Project Management understanding/experience
  • A strong understanding of helicopter maintenance and the interdependences between the various stakeholders
  • Experience with medium/large rotary wing aircraft
  • Competent using the Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Previous experience with the management of AW139 Aircraft
  • Previous CASA approved appointments
  • Financial management experience relevant to the management of aircraft maintenance projects
