The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Ground Support Technician to support a world class fixed wing strike fighter program as an Equipment Maintenance Specialist. The role is based at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland and will support a diverse team on an exciting and rewarding program.

As the Equipment Maintenance Specialist you will be responsible for supervising and maintaining Ground Support Equipment (GSE) systems and servicing requirements. This will include undertaking maintenance activities in support of Product Support Training & Maintenance (PST&M), Amberley Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) this may include modification, maintenance, coordination of calibration requirements and generic tool store activities in support of the maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that all GSE support and maintenance activities are incorporated IAW approved processes and procedures.
  • Ensure GSE / PME is monitored and scheduled maintenance and calibration activities are performed.
  • Provide assistance to and take directions from BDA Technicians and staff in the execution of team goals.
  • Completes assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of trade level activities. These activities require the application of post-trade qualifications and/or experience in the relevant trade category in accordance with the appropriate documentation (planning documents, engineering drawings, etc.).
Accountabilities
  • Reporting to the Maintenance Services Operations Manager
  • Liaising directly with Boeing, Commonwealth and other Industry teams involved in maintenance operations at Amberley
  • A high level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
Essential

Qualifications
  • Hold an Australian trade level Certificate in a mechanical or GSE discipline
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance of Negative Vetting 1
  • Must meet security requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Hold a C class driver's license
Desirable

Criteria
  • Prior experience in support equipment asset management systems
  • Defence MILLIS experience
  • High Risk Work License
  • Fork lift license
