Our therapists enjoy flexible working hours and autonomy in managing their own caseload. Employees receive support to access up to $10,000 in professional development funding and 5 paid PD days per year.

The Mt Isa region has one of the busiest events calendars of the year which includes the Mt Isa Rodeo (one of the biggest in the world), Boulia Camel Races, Julia Creek Dirt and Dust Festival, The Gregory Canoe Race, Mt Isa Border Ride (an easy 200km bike ride to the Territory Border!) and many more.Race meets, concerts, markets, black tie events, music at "The Shack" and the annual multi-cultural festival are all on the list too.

Position Description:

Assessment and treatment of children and adults with a variety of needs including:

  • early intervention due to developmental delay and other pervasive disabilities including autism.
  • receptive and expressive language difficulties.
  • speech sound difficulties.
  • play and social skills intervention
  • development of skills and strategies to support engagement in school and other learning environments.
  • Delivery of services in clinic, homes and schools using an occupation centred family based model.
  • Maintaining a high level of written work, including progress notes, assessment reports, home programs and discharge paperwork.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Recognised degree in Speech Pathology,
  2. Registration with Speech Pathology Australia,
  3. Experience with complex clients, including children with ASD,
  4. A passion for learning,
  5. Current Blue Card for working with children (or ability to acquire one),
  6. High level of interpersonal and written communication skills,
  7. Ability to work independently and manage own caseload, and
  8. C Class Driver's license and own vehicle.
