The key program and job details are as follows:

In the role of Clinical Psychologist/ Psychologist you will be central to the provision of culturally appropriate comprehensive and flexible mental health psychological services to Indigenous clients and their families.

The role will work within an integrated model of care providing mental health clinical leadership and service delivery for a range of programs from mental health to the Family Well-Being service.

The needs of the client and family will be supported through a mix of direct service provision by the mental health team and linking into other Nhulundu Health Service programs and services, as well as referring into/collaboration with external services as required. The aim is to build individual/family support and integrate strengthening services with appropriate clinical services.

Key duties include:

  • Locally delivered psychological services; including clinical assessment, complex case formulation and intervention planning, telehealth treatment, education, delivery of evidence based therapeutic mental health interventions
  • Work with integrated service model as part of multi-disciplinary team providing mental health Clinical Leadership for trauma- informed consumer focused services within the scope of current Best Practice
  • Contribute to professional supervision of mental health workers and Family Wellbeing workers and support the development and coaching of these workers
  • Contribute to effective governance, continuous improvement and integration of mental health activities throughout all GRAICCHS programs
  • Contribute to the development and conduct of non-clinical intervention programs including men's, women's and youth groups and cultural and therapeutic activities.
Key requirements include:
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA) and Psychology Board of Australia. Clinical endorsement desirable
  • Clinical experience working with vulnerable families at risk, complex and at risk presentations
  • Ability to work with the whole person and family network within an integrated service model incorporating delivery of wellbeing activities, education and intervention
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of virtual team
  • Eligible for a Medicare provider number
  • Demonstrated experience in providing assessment, therapeutic and support services to children, adults, families and groups.
