About the Opportunity

This organisation now has an opportunity available for an adaptable Psychologist, Mental Health Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join their team in Mount Isa as a Mental Health Professional, on a full-time basis.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality mental health assessment, treatment, and intervention services, as well as community education activities, to individuals in Mount Isa and neighbouring communities.

A true generalist role, you will have the opportunity to expand your skillset whilst working with a broad range of clients, including children and adults, older persons, people with drug and alcohol issues and those affected by natural disasters.

Who are we looking for?

Candidates from all experience levels, including both recent graduates and senior clinicians, are encouraged to apply. This organisation is open to candidates from a number of areas, provided you are currently registered, or eligible to obtain registration with either AHPRA or AASW. Suitable professions include:

  • A Registered Psychologist;
  • A Provisional Psychologist;
  • An Accredited Mental Health Social Worker; or
  • An experienced Mental Health Occupational Therapist.

This organisation is seeking a dedicated individual who is culturally sensitive and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and autonomously.

You will need to have high-level interpersonal, cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills to establish and support respectful and trusting relationships with individuals, teams, the staff and the community at large. While not mandatory, candidates with additional experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds will be highly regarded.

Please note: You will need to hold a current, unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence and consent to a criminal record check prior to commencement.
