Midwife Level 1 (Casual positions available – Single or Dual Qualifications)

The Dorothea Devine Maternity Unit aims to provide the continuum of care to women and their families from booking to the post-natal period. We offer holistic care with a woman centred approach. The unit is serviced by dedicated Midwives, Lactation Consultants and Obstetricians in collaboration with private Paediatricians, a level 4 Special Care Nursery and 24 hour Intensive Care coverage. We also care for Gynaecological patients.

About The Role

You will provide quality woman focused midwifery care, promoting collaborative relationships amongst the health care team and maintaining a woman and family focused approach to nursing across the continuum of care.


  • Provide clinical practice and care consistent with the mission and philosophy of the facility
  • Ability to achieve assigned KPIs
  • Plan and coordinate the woman’s care in the antenatal, intrapartum and post natal period effectively, whilst acting as her advocate as required.
  • Participate in and support education activities and to contribute to the development of self and other team members
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Current dual AHPRA registration as a dual qualified Registered Nurse/Midwife
  • Willingness to be a positive team member with an attitude to support others and problem solve efficiently
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements
  • Current clinical knowledge and critical thinking ability
