About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Group Financial Accountant to join the Financial Reporting and Control team in a twelve month maximum term contract.

This position is within the Bank’s Group Finance Division and is responsible for ensuring the Bank’s consolidated financial reporting requirements are met and that systems and controls are continually developed to ensure timely, efficient and accurate reporting to Executive Management and the Board of Directors.

The role will primarily focus on the financial accounting for the consolidated Group combined with managing the day to day operational requirements of the finance function.

This is an exciting time to join BOQ Group Finance as we continue to embed a new Target Operating Model with the aim to become the best Finance Team in the Australian Banking industry, through digitised service models and transactional task automation.

About You

This position is suited to an experienced senior accounting professional with a strong background in financial reporting. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven technical accounting skills and implementation of new accounting standards
  • Effective stakeholder management and relationship development skills
  • Consistent ability to meet deadlines and deliver outcomes
  • Continuous improvement mindset and the drive to enhance the end to end process
  • Previous experience in a senior accounting / financial reporting role is required. Banking experience is highly preferred.
