JOB DESCRIPTION

The Gold Coast SUNS and Metricon Stadium are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and experienced Events and Operations Coordinator.

This role will report to the Events and Operations Manager and will work closely with the Events and Operations Assistant in planning event days, management and delivery of all stadium events including Gold Coast SUNS and AFL Events, cricket, concerts, community and corporate events.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the management of all AFL & Non - AFL events including planning and coordination, event day management and post event debriefs, reports and settlements;
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a casual workforce strategy including the training and induction of the casual workforce;
  • Oversee the process of rostering and payroll for casual staff at events;
  • Drive engagement initiatives within the casual workforce;
  • Ensure effective communication with key stakeholders and manage the development, implementation and review of the operational requirements for the venue. Stakeholders include AFL, away teams, event hirers /promoters, catering, cleaning, security and ticketing partners, etc.
  • Ensure all stadium related operational practices performed by staff, contractors or venue hirers are compliant with stadium WH&S requirements; and
  • Involvement in ticketing operations for all non - AFL content for seasonal and one-off hirers including cricket & concerts.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in relation to each of the below Selection Criteria:

  • A strong personal brand, which personifies the Gold Coast SUNS values
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in stadium and/or event management with a general understanding of the operational requirements in planning and delivering a successful large-scale event
  • Sound computer skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience in written communications for administrative purposes
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • Experience in developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate and plan for eventualities.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work outside of business hours and on weekends.
  • Experience with a ticketing system (desirable)
