The opportunity:
This position is for onsite and offsite support for internally and externally customers. Main duties would be to eliminate technical issues and to assist with maximizing equipment availability, reliability and productivity on the entire Komatsu fleet. Focus areas for KGM, Mechanical wheel loader, and Dozer products

Key responsibilities:
Provide assistance to maximise equipment availability, reliability and productivity by assisting Komatsu Service technicians to resolve technical issues when in the field. Responses for all Technical queries are to be responded to within two (2) hours and provide clear communication of work progress to internal and external customers
Visit Customers to observe machines when there are major technical or reliability issues and create technical documentation based on machine observations and issue investigation/resolution
Communicate and work with the appropriate factory representatives to enhance future machine improvements by providing relevant information that has been gathered from the machine observations and has been entered into SMAP or the National Tech Log
Carry out continuous improvement projects ensuring projects are completed within the designated time frame. Engagement of the QLD east coast Engineering department for assistance in reliability solutions may be required
Provide assistance to internal employees in evaluating machine reliability on applications, working conditions, environmental factors and duty cycle by working collaboratively and in a timely and efficient manner
Carry out professional and timely submission of TSI/QTQA to factory. Target submission within 5 days of receiving the required information from service departments
Technical issue resolution in a professional and timely manner to minimise customer downtime by assisting
Komatsu Service Technicians resolve technical issues, Technical issue entered to QLD National Tech Log

The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:
High degree of mechanical and electrical aptitude
Hold a broad based knowledge/working experience of Komatsu utility, construction and large mining equipment
The ability to communicate with the Customer, Komatsu and Site personnel
An excellent understanding and commitment to safety and the environment
Must have working knowledge local and mine specific, OH&S and industrial legislation
Ability to analyse / troubleshoot complicated hydraulic, mechanical and electrical technical problems and recommend solutions
Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical drawings
Ability to work with the minimum of supervision
An understanding of maintenance targets including availability, reliability, parts management and component life cycle management
Previous exposure to Komatsu Maintenance and Operation policies and procedures
Previous exposure to site maintenance programs
24V Auto electrical knowledge
Knowledge of air conditioning and climate control systems
Strives for continuous improvement
Well-developed written and oral skills
Appropriate demeanor to create and work in a positive team atmosphere
