The Salvation Army Employment Plus in Woodridge is looking for new volunteers to help bring HOPE where it’s needed most. Be a part of this by volunteering just a few hours per week as Interpreter Support and make a difference in your community.

The mission of The Salvation Army Employment Plus network is to change lives and communities through the power of employment. Support Case Managers and Job Seekers by attending meetings and providing translation of spoken languages and materials. Additionally, the role may be required to assist with basic administrative tasks which relate to the Interpreter Support duties.

This role is an essential point of contact with the local community and as such the right candidate will possess good people skills and the ability to work within the mission and values of The Salvation Army.

We Are Particularly Looking For People Who Possess The Following Attributes

  • The ability to listen carefully and interpret language and meaning.
A Typical Day Will Include
  • Greet and welcome Job Seekers, ensuring a warm and friendly environment
  • Attend meetings and provide support by translating spoken languages and written documents for Case Worker and Job Seeker
  • Provide information to Case Worker and/or Job Seeker as needed
  • Interpret the meaning or feeling of what is being said and translate into an appropriate tone
  • Take minutes and record interactions as required
  • Provide support with general office activities such as scanning and copying
  • Ensure confidentiality and accurate recording of data
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of office space

### Mandatory Requirements Of The Role:
  • Complete The Salvation Army mission volunteer induction, training and registration process
  • Volunteers are required to comply with all TSA work, health and safety policies and procedures as applicable to their workplace
### Roster & Time Commitment:
  • As agreed with the manager. Thursday and Friday during business hours.
  • Please advise your availability in "Interests, skills & qualifications"
