Regis Lifestyle Program – PIEC&S

PIEC&S is what you will hear talked about as Regis’ Lifestyle Program. PIEC&S is an acronym for Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Cultural and Social. This means optimising residents: Personal preferences, Independence and Engagement, being Consultative, and promoting Self esteem.

We believe it is vitally important to stay engaged with life, to stay involved with current interests and develop new ones. Our National Lifestyle Team develops ideas from around the country and makes them available to all our residents. There are 100s of unique program offerings, National Programs and at least one major celebration each month. Regis provides targeted services, and specialised staff and environments to support residents living with dementia. Some of our programs include PARO Therapy, Activity Stations, Table Top Activities, Music Memories, Resi @ Home and our Sundowners Program.

Regis Chelmer

Regis Chelmer is a purpose-built ageing-in-place facility inside a faithfully restored 1890s mansion, topped with a magnificent rooftop Club lounge opened late 2017.

There are 120 single rooms, each with en suite, and all with a view of a courtyard or landscaped garden. Regis Chelmer offers a Family Room for when a loved one is in palliative care. Equipped with a sofa bed, tea & coffee making facilities and a pamper trolley, these private rooms offer space and comfort for families. For a limited time opening offer for government funded beds available (conditions apply).

About The Role

As a Lifestyle Assistant, you will play a vital role in the delivery of individual and group activity programs designed to enhance our residents’ physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural and social well being. We are looking for someone with a positive personality, capacity to work well autonomously and as a team player, and who is passionate about ensuring our residents have engaging and meaningful activities that suit their needs and interests.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Active participation in the delivery and evaluation of activities
  • Liaise with residents and their families
  • Ensure complete and timely documentation of resident participation and engagement
  • Assist in carrying out lifestyle assessments of residents
Skills

& Experience
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Aged Care and associated accreditation requirements e.g. Aged Care Quality Standards, ACFI (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience working with people living with dementia
  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (preferred)
  • Experience using a computerised Care Management System (desirable)
  • Outstanding communication and computer skills
To be eligible to join the team at Regis we require the following:
  • Consistent with State and Territory public health orders and with Regis’ mandatory vaccination policy, all candidates must produce evidence that they have received the current (i.e. 2021) seasonal influenza vaccination or medical evidence to Regis’ satisfaction of an accepted clinical contraindication to receiving the influenza vaccination
  • Proof of the right to work lawfully in Australia
  • Valid National Police Check (Full disclosure or standard disclosure)
