About Our Client
Our client is Australia's largest coal miner and exporter, the world's largest supplier to the sea borne coking coal market and largest coal producer and supplier of metallurgical coal. The client has several mine sites across the Bowen Basin consisting primarily of open cut mines.
About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking skilled and experienced Shot Firers to commence at a mine near Moranbah on a 6/6 Roster . Our Client is seeking Shot Firers who have worked in the role for a minimum of 2 years on a mine site near Moranbah. BIBO is available from Mackay. The successful candidate will be responsible for bench blasting activities, dipping and logging of blast holes, blast guarding, installation of hole liners, operating IT Loaders and off siding of MPUâs. You will be required to have a strong focus of safety and production, work ethic and organisational skills. You will be working with a strong dedicated team.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • 12.5 Hour Shifts
  • Follow Company as well as Site Procedures & Policies to a safe standard.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient safety of yourself and others
  • Assemble, position, and detonate explosives at a mine site
  • Inspect blast areas
  • Ensure that all safety regulations are followed
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Shot Firer
  • Shot Firers Ticket (must be current)
  • Police Clearance
  • Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • BMA Core or Standard 11 (or willing to obtain)
  • Right to work within Australia
