Your day to day

The role of the Kids Club Attendant is to ensure a safe and happy environment for guest and staff children. You will assist in implementing age appropriate programs for children. Your role will also include supporting the Manager and working as an effective team within the Activities department to assist in day to day running of Kids Club/ Crèche and its continuous improvement. · To adequately supervise small and large groups of children aged from 4 years to 12 years. · To effectively communicate with team mates, parents, guests, children, manager and inter-departments. · Ensure parent/guardian completes correct enrolment forms/waiver. · To have a sound working knowledge of Childcare Regulations · To have a sound working knowledge of Accreditation principles and work towards developing and maintaining a high quality service. · Ensure appropriate hygiene and safety standards are adhered to. · Knowledge of computer and posting charges. · To assist other staff members when needed. · Maintain guest focus and exceed guest expectations. · Accurately record and maintain appropriate documentation for licensing purposes, ensuring confidentially is maintained. · To understand your duty of care and reporting procedures · To assist with the implementation of developmentally appropriate activities on a daily basis; ensuring a balance of activities are offered. · To assist in the planning of the School Holiday Program for the Kids Club. · Basic knowledge of opening and closing procedures of the centre. · To adhere to InterContinental Hayman Island Resort standards and service delivery at all times when dealing with guests.


What we need from you

· Communication skills - guests will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to · Your problem-solving skills will turn issues into opportunities so every guest leaves with great memories · Fluency in the local language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential · Literate and tech-savvy - you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic maths and computers · Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job · Qualifications: you will need to hold a Blue Card and an Early Childcare services certificate would be desired. · Strength - sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling · Experience - ideally you’ll have spent at least 2-3 years in a similar role and a background in hospitality would be desired.
