Based in our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank Plains. This will be a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast paced, collaborative team of finance professionals. You will have the right environment to learn and grow within this supportive team.

About the role

As a Project Controller with RDA within our Land 400-2 program, you will be responsible for the preparation and management of key project financials including, the estimate at completion, monthly forecasting of sales and cash flow and control of the project within our ERP system. The Project Controller also needs to develop strong working relationships across all functions within the project, ensuring accuracy and transparency of financial information.

We currently have two Project Controller opportunities available. One to focus on our Engineering, Operations and AIC areas of organisation and one to focus specifically on our Land 400-2 Program.

As Project Controller, you can also anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
  • Liaising with Project Managers and Project Directors on their performance against budget while providing specialist financial management advice on budget control and forecast outcomes;
  • Provide ongoing training and support to project staff on the budgeting and reporting system;
  • Establish and maintain project cost structures within SAP for planned and actual costs;
  • Work closely with the Project Planning team to ensure coherence of the Planning and Financial systems;
  • Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of RDA’s Long Term Financial Plan and its strategic and operational objectives;
  • Support the production of monthly and quarterly project performance reports and forecasts including detailed variance analysis;
  • Work closely with the project management team to ensure an accurate assessment of cost to complete;
  • Review, develop, and implement financial systems, processes, financial models, and reports; and
  • Drive continuous operational improvements within the project finance team.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance / Accounting / Commerce or related discipline;
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling;
  • Experience in project cost planning, scheduling and development of financial reports and analysis;
  • Sound knowledge of costing / management accounting practices;
  • Demonstrated experience of successful business partnering with multiple non-finance functions;
  • Advanced MS Office skills ie. Excel and Powerpoint;
  • Be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening; and
  • An ability to travel internationally and interstate when and if required.
