Are you passionate and committed to making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families? Do you have experience with personal care, including using hoists and other care equipment? We would like to hear from you!

About The Role
Disability Support Worker (Casual)

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Supporting the participant with their personal care needs
  • Encouraging involvement within the community
  • Assisting participants to achieve their goals (e.g. getting more involved in community activities, learning life skills, trying new things, etc.)

About You

  • Interest supporting individuals with disabilities
  • Ability to work positively with people with a disability to achieve their goals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive, quick to respond, and focused on achieving outcomes
  • Ability to work flexible hours including morning, evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Demonstrated experience with personal care, medications, hoists & manual handling

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care)
  • Current Queensland driver's licence
  • A reliable roadworthy vehicle, with current registration and comprehensive insurance
  • Current Police Screening Certificate
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Mandatory annual Influenza Vaccination
  • Good computer & mobile device skills
  • Current Disability Worker Screening (Yellow Card) and Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
  • Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • at least 6 months experience of supporting NDIS participants in their homes
  • Passion for supporting disabled people
