JOB DESCRIPTION

The Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre is the largest regional entertainment and convention centre between Cairns and Brisbane. We are currently searching for a Business Development Assistant to join the team.

The role:
The key responsibilities of this role include promoting the MECC as a leading regional convention, entertainment and exposition centre, and in the achievement of commercial success.
Assist in the delivery of sales strategies and sales effort to achieve maximum revenue generation through the full range of the centre’s revenue streams.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
  • Previous experience in delivery of events or destination marketing.
  • Previous experience in an office support role.
  • QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence or interstate equivalent.
  • This role involves working closely with a multi-skilled high performing team, is high paced, and demands highly development organisational and administrative skills. You must have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Blue Card - It is an essential requirement for this position to hold a Working with Children Blue Card. Under Queensland legislation, you must hold the Blue Card prior to commencing employment – No Card, No Start policy.
