About the Role

Our client is looking for a qualified Fitter/ Welder to join an experienced team at their Wacol workshop doing repairs, servicing and installations on one of Australia's top crane brands.

Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 3.00pm with occasional overtime.

This position offers excellent rates and training opportunities to assist in furthering your career.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Undertaking maintenance & repair work on a broad range of hydraulic and mechanical equipment
  • Following specific maintenance programs and carrying out repairs as required
  • Identifying and rectifying faults during inspections
  • Installations
  • Working from schematic drawings and manuals
  • Machining & fabrication of crane components
  • Completion of documentation of all work performed
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

About You

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:

  • Experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Mechanic or Boilermaker with a trade certificate
  • Confident in welding, hot work practices and machining,
  • 12/24 volt electrical experience (preferred not essential)
  • Mandatory: basic hydraulic knowledge
  • Physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical and D&A test
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency when required
  • Experienced with service and repairs to mobile plant
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely in a team environment

  • Resume outlining all skills and experiences
  • 2 x current work referees
  • Birth Certificate or Passport
  • Drivers Licence
  • Trade Certificate
