The Opportunity

Our office is looking to appoint an ambitious, hardworking and experienced career Paralegal to join our team. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the Partner and other solicitors in a wide range of practice areas with particular focus in Family Law, Property Law and Estate matters.

The applicant is required to have experience in the above areas of the law. Experience in other areas of the law will be viewed favourably.

The role will involve a number of duties including but not limited to:

  • Dealing with complex family law matters including, parenting and property matters such as child support and recovery matters;
  • Drafting: correspondence and legal documentation such as Affidavits and Consent Orders etc;
  • Liaising with clients, other legal firms, Barristers, Courts and other Government departments and third parties;
  • Preparing residential contracts for the Sale of Land, Off the Plan and Commercial properties;
  • Obtaining title searches, pest & building reports, strata reports, statutory inquiries;
  • Preparing settlement figures, attending to stamping of contracts and transfers;
  • Liaising with incoming & outgoing mortgagees;
  • Preparing lease documents;
  • Manage Estate and Probate matters; and
  • General administrative work such as: billing, copying, filing, file management, etc.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least 5 years legal experience;
  • An ability to work under pressure and think on one's feet;
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise work in meeting deadlines;
  • Proactive approach to work;
  • The ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external;
  • A genuine passion for the law and willingness to undertake work across a vast array of practice areas; and
  • A charismatic and energetic personality.
